Meaning of Come Undone by Duran Duran & The Story

Composition Come Undone from The Wedding Album is one of the most popular tracks of the British rock band Duran Duran. She climbed high in the charts of many countries, had great commercial success and for many years was registered in the concert set lists of the band.

The demo version of the song was born when the album was almost ready, but the producers immediately recognized the hit, forced the musicians to record it in a hurry and found a place for it on the record.

The Story Behind of Come Undone by Duran Duran

The instrumentation was composed by Warren Cuccurullo and Nick Rhodes. Warren came up with the famous guitar break when he was trying to play the First Impression song from the Liberty album in a new way. A few years ago, he admitted that they were working on material that they were going to record separately from Duran Duran, but later changed their minds.

Rhodes talked about the history behind Come Undone:

Warren and I started writing it while also working on some other material that we were playing. Simon came in and heard what we were doing. He said, “Wow, that’s wonderful!” So it became a Duran Duran song. Simon wrote a really beautiful tune. By that time we already had the phrase “can’t ever keep from falling apart”, and he quickly made it his or himself a part of it.

John Jones also reminisced about the recording of Come Undone:

We had already completed The Wedding Album, recorded the master CD and started on an album of Thank You covers. We took the drum loop and bass beat from my demo called Face to Face and added an ultra-cool guitar riff that Warren had previously composed for the new First Impression cover. After a couple of hours of editing, we played a Capitol track over the phone in Los Angeles. They liked it and said they wanted to include it on The Wedding Album! When Nick arrived in the afternoon, we turned the intro into a song that we played to Simon that evening. He returned the next day with lyrics and a melody. It seems like a day later we recorded the vocals. On the fourth day, we finished the details and sent the track to David Richards for mixing. [David Richards] to Switzerland.

British singer Tessa Niles, who previously collaborated with Duran Duran during the recording of Notorious, was invited to record female vocals. Backing vocals by Kate Bush

Bassist John Taylor was not involved in the recording of the song. He was in Los Angeles at the time and was thinking about leaving the band altogether.

Come Undone Lyrics

Mine, immaculate dream made breath and skin
I’ve been waiting for you
Signed with a home tattoo
Happy birthday to you was created for you
Can’t ever keep from falling apart at the seams
Cannot believe you’re taking my heart to pieces?
Ah, it’ll take a little time
Might take a little crime to come undone

Now we’ll try to stay blind to the hope and fear outside
Hey child, stay wilder than the wind and blow me in to cry

Who do you need?
Who do you love?
When you come undone
Who do you need?
Who do you love?
When you come undone

Words playing me deja vu
Like a radio tune, I wear I’ve heard before
Chills, is it something real?
Or the magic I’m feeding off your fingers
Can’t ever keep from falling apart at the seams
Can I believe you’re taking my heart to pieces?
Lost in a snow filled sky
We’ll make it alright to come undone
Now we’ll try to stay blind to the hope and fear outside
Hey child, stay wilder than the wind and blow me in to cry

Who do you need?
Who do you love?
When you come undone
Who do you need?
Who do you love?
When you come undone

Come Undone Lyrics Duran Duran Alternate

My impeccable dream came true.
I’ve been waiting for you for a long time
I made a tattoo myself
“Happy birthday” is for you.
I never learned to control myself.
Can’t believe you’re breaking my heart?
Ah, it’ll take a little time
Maybe even a small crime
To open the soul.

We will try to ignore the fears and hopes of the outside world.
Hey baby stay wilder than the wind and make me cry.

Who do you need?
Who do you love?
When you open your soul
Who do you need?
Who do you love?
When you open your soul

Words give me deja vu
Like a tune on the radio, I swear I’ve heard this before.
Goosebumps, is this for real?
Or is it the magic you feed me from your hands?
I never learned to control myself.
Can’t believe you’re breaking my heart?
I’m lost in skies full of snow.
We’ll work it out to open up the soul.

We will try to ignore the fears and hopes of the outside world.
Hey baby stay wilder than the wind and make me cry.

Who do you need?
Who do you love?
When you open your soul
Who do you need?
Who do you love?
When you open your soul
