The situation changed dramatically in 1989, when Alice Cooper, with the participation of producer and songwriter Desmond Child, released Trash, which turned out to be the best-selling record of Alice’s career. And the biggest hit of the tracks included in it was the composition Poison (“Poison”). She allowed Cooper to once again rise to the top of the charts, which had not happened to him since 1977.
The lyrics of the Poison song, on which Desmond worked very carefully, can be interpreted in different ways, which Alice Cooper fans are willing to do. Some believe that in it he turns to a woman who poisons his life, but he is unable to leave her. Others think that we are talking about drugs and alcohol, which cause a lot of suffering, but it is extremely difficult to give them up. Given the period in which the composition was written, the second version does not seem far-fetched at all.
In the United States, Poison peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart. In addition, she walked through the top lines of the charts in Austria, Ireland, Australia, Norway and Holland.

Later, the scenes with her participation were redone, and the actress appeared in a corset covering her breasts.
