With the release of this composition began a phenomenon that music historians will call “Beatlemania” (Beatlemania). The single She Loves You introduced The Beatles to the American public and made the musicians real stars in the UK.
And in the words of the song, for the first time, the signature refrain “yeah, yeah, yeah” sounded, because of which the group in some European countries will be called The Yeah-Yeahs.
The story and meaning of She Loves You
The main part of the song Paul McCartney (Paul McCartney) and John Lennon (John Lennon) composed June 26, 1963 in Newcastle, relaxing after a concert at the hotel.
Paul said that he was inspired by Bobby Rydell’s hit Forget Him:
I planned an “answer song” in which one of us would sing: “I love you” and the other would answer: “Yes, yes.” We decided that in itself it was a poor idea, but at least we had an idea for a song called She Loves You. We sat on the bed in the hotel for a couple of hours and wrote it.

John Lennon also talked about working on the track:
I remember it was Paul’s idea: instead of singing “I love you” again, we used the third person. This little detail is evident in his current work, where he writes a story about someone, and I’m more inclined to just write about myself.
All We Are Saying, David Sheff
Paul McCartney’s word:
It was “she”, “you”, “me”, “I” again – a song in personal pronouns. I guess the most interesting thing about it is that it was a message song, someone was delivering a message. It wasn’t us…

They completed the composition the next day, being in the house of Paul’s parents. McCartney recalled:
We were at home one night working hard on it while my dad was watching TV and smoking Players cigarettes and we wrote She Loves You. In fact, we ended it there because we started it in a hotel room. We went into the living room: “Daddy, listen to this. What do you think?” We played it to my dad, and he said: “That’s very good, son, but there are so many of these Americanisms around. Could you sing: “She loves you. Yes! Yes! Yes!” At that moment, we almost fainted and said: “No, dad, you got it all wrong!” This is a typical situation with my father.

Lennon also talked about the signature refrain:
I don’t know where that “yeah, yeah, yeah” came from, but I remember when Elvis recorded All Shook Up, for the first time in my life I heard “uh huh”, “oh yeah” and “yeah, yeah” sung in the same song .
MacDonald, 1997
McCartney admitted that they borrowed the “wooooo” exclamation from the song Twist and Shout by the Isley Brothers.
Recording
The Beatles recorded She Loves You at Studio 2 on Abbey Road on July 1, 1963.
Sound designer Norman Smith recalled:
While tuning the microphone, I first saw the text on the music stand: “’She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah, She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah, She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah, Yeah!” I thought: “My God, what words! This is exactly what I don’t like.” But when they started to sing it – bam, wow, great, I started dancing right behind the mixer.

She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah

It’s you she’s thinking of
And she told me what to say-yi-yay
chorus:
She says she loves you
and you know that can’t be bad
Yes, she loves you

Quotes about the song She Loves You
Radio host Brian Matthew reviewed She Loves You in Melody Maker and called it “trash”. None of us had heard the word “banal” before, and we thought, “Tranquil? What does it mean? Saccharine? Too rebellious? What does “banal” mean? But when the record hit No. 1 on the Melody Maker chart the following week, he retracted his comments on the first page: “No, no, at first I might have thought it was a little trite… but I’m liking it more and more.”
Paul McCartney, Anthology
When I listened to She Loves You, I just flew away. That was incredible. The world turned over. I dreamed that Paul McCartney would marry my sister.
