On “Hot Stuff” they had chord charts. About this song, they said, “Let’s go traditional disco,” as far as the bass is concerned. I tried to achieve more musicality, but she was more and more immersed in a standardized disco style, with the usual parts of drums and bass. Her earlier version was more musical. I guess that’s why I like her a little more.
The famous guitar solo, considered a classic of the genre, was performed by session musician Jeff “Skunk” Baxter (Jeff “Skunk” Baxter).

In 1980, the first time the Grammy Awards were held, Donna Summer won the Best Female Rock Vocal Performance award for “Hot Stuff”.
The composition is included in the list of the 500 greatest songs of all time according to the readers of Rolling Stone magazine.
