The very first single of the American rock band The Pretty Reckless, which was the composition Make Me Wanna Die, rose to the top of the UK Rock charts. The producers of The Pretty Reckless chose Make Me Wanna Die for the first single, although the musicians did not originally plan to release it in this format. The single was released in May 2010. As mentioned above, it topped the UK Rock Chart and stayed at number one for six weeks.
The success of the song was facilitated by its inclusion in the soundtrack for the film Kick-Ass (“Kick-Ass”). Lionsgate Entertainment, which was filming the comedy, found out that Make Me Wanna Die would be the band’s first single and wanted to use the song in their picture. Both the musicians of The Pretty Reckless and the creators of Kick-Ass were satisfied with the result of such cooperation.
Meaning of Make Me Wanna Die
Many music lovers, having heard Make Me Wanna Die, decided that these were songs about love for a vampire. Approximately a year before the premiere of the track on the Internet, the first part of the sensational “Twilight” was released, and the lyrics of the song evoke very clear associations with the plot of a vampire drama.
However, as far as I know, the band’s musicians did not confirm this version of the interpretation of the main idea of Make Me Wanna Die.
But it would be strange if none of the cinema fraternity took advantage of the situation. In the same 2010, the song Make Me Wanna Die was featured in the trailer for the second season of The Vampire Diaries. Two music videos were filmed for Make Me Wanna Die. The first was created specifically for the promotion of the song on the Internet and appeared on the Web in May 2010.
